Inspired by the life of Professor Türkan Saylan, which led to a biographical novel by Ayşe Kulin, the story revolves around a young medical student named Türkan (Pınar Öğün). Set in turbulent times of the 1960s, Türkan meets with her longtime pen pal Ali (Saygın Soysal). Admired by her intelligence and outlook on life, Ali proposes to her after expressing his feelings.
