Adapted from the Filipino drama, A Mother’s Guilt is the story of Suna (Özge Özberk), who makes a grim deal and commits a crime to save her son’s life. She is a single mother of three living in the ghetto. After the death of her husband, Suna has worked hard operating a fish shop to provide for her children. She struggles to make ends meet and pays for a mass housing loan with her hard-earned money. Her eldest son, Yusuf (Mert Yazıcıoğlu) is a senior law school student and in love with Yağmur (Simay Barlas). After having a heart attack, Yusuf finds out that he must have surgery to survive. When Suna tries to cash out her investments, the company owner Sadri (Musa Uzunlar) declares bankruptcy to save his daughter Yağmur’s future with insurance money. However, the only way to get it is to be murdered. Sadri makes Suna an offer to kill him in exchange for cash. After an unintentional shot during a fight between the two, Suna takes the money which marks the beginning of a lifelong struggle. Standing by their love for each other, Yusuf and Yağmur are put to test by Suna’s sin.
