Ahmet is an unemployed literature graduate, he lives with his cousin Nuri and his friend Erkan. Nuri is a university student, Erkan is a "qualified" unemployed university graduate. The three men, who cannot make both ends meet, are about to be put out on the street because they haven’t paid their rent the past six months. The three men who are constantly looking for money try to borrow some from almost everyone they know. Meanwhile, Ahmet participates in a poetry contest entitled "Vatan-Millet-Sakarya and finds a way to win the grand prize. However, the competition is only among children. Ahmet has to find a talented boy to join the contest as soon as possible. Nuri tries to borrow money from Ercu, a rich and laied back man in order to pay his rent. Ercü makes up a lie to Nuri in order to get out of giving him the money, a lie that will surface soon enough. When Ahmet finds the little Gudbettin to join the contest; Erkan and Nuri ask the help of Hacı Güdük, a "dark and mysterious" type to draw the money from Ercü. However things don’t go as expected and everything get out of hand.
